About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement negotiating tactics and arrange the purchase and sale of Heavy Products
  • Ensure purchased and transferred intermediate feedstocks meet technical and refining parameters
  • Interface with Traders, Schedulers, Refinery Feedstock Coordinators, Accountants, Engineers, Analysts, Legal, and other personnel across commercial and operational functions
  • Prepare contracts and address information queries
  • Initiate, recommend, develop, and implement acquisition or sales strategies
  • Evaluate and execute discretionary trade and business development opportunities, including storage, blending, and freight deals
  • Manage basis commodity exposure and/or physical inventory positions within operational constraints
  • Represent the Company at industry functions and maintain internal and external Heavy Products trading contacts
  • Maintain and communicate a relevant commodity pricing database daily

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Trader: Three (3) or more years of experience in Trading or Marketing including profit/loss responsibility for Product Trading, Contract Negotiation and Scheduling (rail, truck, vessel and pipe)
  • Senior Trader: Five (5) or more years of experience in Trading or Marketing including profit/loss responsibility for Product Trading, Contract Negotiation and Scheduling (rail, truck, vessel and pipe)
