About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure site-wide compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site policies by developing, managing, and delivering comprehensive operator training programs
- Develop, manage, and maintain operator training plans, including field and board qualification plans and upskilling lesson plans
- Develop, manage, and maintain qualification evaluations and drawings as required by policy
- Manage training documents and records in accordance with policy
- Review and update training materials for accuracy and alignment with instructional system design principles
- Conduct unit qualification training and upskilling for field and console operators, including qualification testing
- Provide Return to Work, Refresher, and Front-Line Supervisor training
- Assist with Basic Operator Training and coordinate contingency training
- Organize and facilitate specialized vendor training sessions with Area Teams and/or Technologists
- Schedule and ensure completion of training classes for major projects and turnarounds
- Assist in developing training materials for major projects and turnarounds and participate in start-up and shutdown timeline development
- Coordinate training materials and books for turnarounds or major projects with the Area Team
- Participate in Hazop studies, MOC hazard evaluations, incident investigations, PSSR walkdowns, and OpsEx audits
- Complete recommendations and action items for training materials and events
- Assist with troubleshooting during abnormal operations
- Assist in developing “what-if” drills
- Backfill other roles as needed in the Area Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; education must be obtained/completed prior to start date
- A minimum of 5 years of refinery experience is preferred
