About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and ship services that open searches from external jobs, attach candidates, and advance candidates through recruiting stages
  • Develop the agent runtime that interprets recruiter messages, plans writes, and delivers them
  • Build and maintain the workflow engine that opens tasks when milestones are recorded and avoids duplicate work when steps are already satisfied
  • Develop integrations with applicant tracking systems, calendars, documents, and notes tools
  • Implement polling and webhook paths for detecting newly published jobs
  • Add recruiting workflow steps and verify that chat messages book interviews, move candidates, and record milestones
  • Trace production runs, diagnose narrow failure causes, and add preventive checks
  • Remove obsolete implementations after callers adopt the replacement
  • Collaborate through pull requests with clear descriptions of behavior, risk, and verification
  • Verify recruiting behavior using the real application and repeated model runs where applicable
  • Talk with product users and recruiting firms, and follow searches from job publication through signed offer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience building and operating backend systems that other people depend on
  • Comfort with relational data and transactions
  • Understanding of unique indexes and soft deletes
  • Experience shipping integrations against third-party APIs
  • Understanding of API rate limits, draft-versus-published states, and delayed visibility after successful writes
  • Ability to trace an HTTP request through workflow history and identify which step is running
  • Ability to write maintainable TypeScript
  • Interest in recruiter-facing product behavior and workflow correctness
