About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build agent tools integrating with applicant tracking systems, calendars, email, note-taking apps, and messaging platforms
  • Start integrations with Workable, Google Calendar, Gmail, Notion, and WhatsApp
  • Write and maintain client workflow prompts while keeping client-specific details out of shared code
  • Write scenario evaluations, run them against base and head builds, and determine whether prompt changes should ship
  • Debug production agent runs using traces, Temporal workflow history, and read-only database access
  • Fix root causes rather than adding server-side guards
  • Build workflows that complete supported actions, clearly explain missing information, and resume when information arrives
  • Collaborate with desktop engineers on automations, tasks, and approvals in the Electron app
  • Help non-technical teammates write evaluations and review their work
  • Participate in a lightweight on-call rotation for client-facing automations
  • Join recruiting-lead calls, understand real workflows, and design solutions reusable across clients
  • Ship fixes, scenario evaluations, end-to-end automations, workflow libraries, and general-purpose tools according to defined milestones

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Significant experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience building production systems on top of LLMs, including tool calling, prompt design, structured outputs, and evaluation
  • Comfort with Postgres and reading and writing SQL directly
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs, including OAuth, rate limits, webhooks, pagination, and inconsistent data
  • Habit of verifying work in the running product, not only unit tests
  • Clear written communication
  • Judgment to distinguish prompt problems from code problems
  • Experience with Temporal or another durable workflow engine
  • Background in recruiting, staffing, or HR technology, or close work with recruiters
  • Experience with Electron or desktop application development
  • Familiarity with eval tooling such as Braintrust or building an eval harness
  • Experience at an early-stage startup owning a product area end to end
