About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join an existing team developing video recording solutions on VSS servers
- Design, develop, test, and debug C++ applications in Windows and Linux environments
- Design and implement services and components enabling edge-to-cloud integration
- Contribute to the evolution of the REST-based service layer and decouple it from the underlying runtime environment
- Support migration of applications from Yocto/Linux embedded systems to cloud-native environments
- Define and implement container-based and/or cloud-native deployment architectures
- Support the team in resolving customer issues
- Contribute to high-level design strategies for key projects
- Work under the supervision of a local manager with periodic reviews of completed tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer Science)
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer in Linux or Windows C++ development
- Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance, and highly available embedded and/or server applications
- Experience developing client/server applications in C++
- Desirable knowledge of C++20 features, Boost, and STL
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems, inter-process communication, and multi-threaded applications
- Embedded system development and cross-platform development experience
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or OpenStack
- Familiarity with database systems and languages
- Knowledge of networking protocols and tools such as UDP/IP, TCP/IP, HTTP, RTSP/RTP, Wireshark, and Fiddler
- Experience in an Agile software development environment (SCRUM)
- Object-oriented design and design patterns
- Ability to enhance quality through testability and test automation (BDD)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Fluent English
- Familiarity with Yocto is a desirable asset
- Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a desirable asset
