About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Post detailed entries to financial records
- Handle routine transactions and process travel requisitions and reimbursements, purchase requisitions, internal transfers, and payments to individuals
- Prepare and verify standard financial entries for the financial data processing system
- Reconcile report discrepancies and problems
- Maintain transaction documentation and confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance with UTHSA and departmental policies and procedures
- Identify administrative process issues and help implement solutions
- Guide customers on interpreting UTHSA policies and procedures
- Provide optimal business solutions to customers
- Document and reconcile financial documents
- Ensure transaction and customer-support processes are completed
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree is required
- Three (3) years of financial transaction experience or related experience is required
- Understanding of the organization's financial processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to be dependable and flexible in order to meet deadlines
- Extremely customer-focused
- Self-motivated and a quick learner
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and agency reimbursement programs
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the relevant field of specialization
- Proficiency in applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office
