About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee quality assurance operations for outpatient Substance Use Disorder treatment programs regulated by HHSC
- Manage planning, scheduling, and execution of full-scope and targeted audits
- Validate service delivery against contractual service levels, satisfaction, capacity, access, populations served, evidence-based practices, and timeframes
- Manage auditors conducting on-site visits across Texas
- Oversee EHR/EMR data integrity checks, facility walkthroughs, and environment-of-care evaluations
- Produce audit reports covering scope, findings, ratings, and risk prioritization
- Collaborate with providers on Performance Improvement Plans
- Present audit findings to providers, leadership, and network partners
- Partner with the provider network on standards and remediation
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of auditors
- Provide technical oversight and promote consistent application of audit and regulatory standards
- Analyze audit findings and trends and drive continuous quality improvement
- Develop policies, procedures, quality assurance initiatives, and performance monitoring processes
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and regulatory agencies
- Support readiness for HHSC audits, reviews, and inspections
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience is required
- Experience working within Quality Assurance and auditing preferred
- Relevant experience and knowledge working with substance use care and mental health support preferred
- Ability to interpret and operationalize HHSC requirements, SOWs, and TAC standards
- Ability to apply structured audit methodologies, risk-based sampling, and objective scoring
- Ability to convert metrics into insights and monitor Performance Improvement Plan effectiveness
- Ability to write clear reports and present to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage extensive travel and adapt to varied provider settings statewide
- Ability to handle sensitive information and exercise impartial, evidence-based judgment
- Ability to identify system gaps and recommend sustainable improvements
