Supervisor, Clinical IS Principal Trainer – Epic

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage daily operations of the training team, including staffing development, oversight of principal and credentialed trainers, and deadline communication
- Build and coordinate training and super user programs with the Training Manager
- Develop, maintain, and standardize manuals, education updates, tip sheets, and other educational materials
- Coordinate program scheduling and develop the overall training schedule
- Coordinate the transition from solution definition to training delivery
- Communicate training issues and requirements to organizational leadership
- Align training programs with the build and testing of ongoing Epic projects in coordination with application and technical teams
- Provide system analysis and technical design for the Learning Management Software system
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and conduct performance improvement meetings with principal trainers
- Participate in Health IT projects from planning and workflow design through training
- Serve as a subject matter expert for training quality and consistency
- Train and credential additional classroom trainers
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with information technology teams and application owners
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation and deliver ongoing training
- Participate in clinic rounds, innovation sprints, and one-on-one end-user sessions
- Build electronic health record documentation tools and specialty-specific clinical content
- Provide technical expertise for system upgrades by building, designing, testing, and documenting new functionality
- Commit to ticket service agreements and help keep ticket volume controlled
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Considerable knowledge of adult learning principles/theories and competency-based education
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Self-directed with strong writing, communication, and project management skills
- Excellent stand-up presentation skills
- Ability to bring people together, provide training, and coach team members
- Ability and desire to share knowledge, delegate to, and mentor new leaders
- Ability to adjust efficiently to changing priorities and complexities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Five years of supervisory experience in a clinical or clinical business environment, or equivalent combination of comparable skills, education, training, and/or experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare Information Management or Systems, Health Administration, Arts or Sciences; comparable experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- The ideal candidate is local to the San Antonio area
