About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, analyze, define, and document business processes, business rules, and business requirements
  • Recommend new methodologies, tools, techniques, and processes to ensure agreed-upon solutions are implemented satisfactorily
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technology personnel and recommend process improvements
  • Consult, collaborate, and communicate with executive staff, operational and technical staff, management, and external stakeholders regarding business process initiatives and automation projects
  • Present information and recommendations in written reports and oral presentations
  • Own client relations and establish effective relationships with each client/business area
  • Identify opportunities and strategies to use technology to simplify, integrate, and improve business and workflow processes
  • Develop use case scenarios, business process models, flow charts, and other analysis tools
  • Ensure proposed solutions fit the current IT infrastructure, application platforms, and strategic direction
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
  • Create test cases, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and document results
  • Elicit and document business requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, process analysis, document analysis, task and workflow analysis, trend and data analysis, and other tools
  • Audit and analyze data flows and diagrams; assist in defining system requirements
  • Translate specifications for vendors, consultants, programmers, and software support specialists
  • Identify processes or systems requiring change and manage business components of complex process improvement projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two years of business process analysis and/or business requirements documentation experience in an information technology or business environment
  • Experience managing business components of simple to complex business process improvement projects and/or small system related implementations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona Driver's license by the time of hire
  • Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
