About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support crime victims as part of the Victim Services team
  • Prepare cases for assignment and review/generate case-related documents
  • Manage administrative and court tasks and distribute statutory notifications
  • Retrieve and distribute database reminders
  • Review and interpret court documents such as minute entries and court orders
  • Handle incoming calls, answer general questions, route calls, take detailed messages, and return calls
  • Cover the main reception desk
  • Perform statistical data collection and track information
  • Enter and retrieve case information from various databases
  • Research case-related information by reviewing police reports, case forms, and court documents
  • Respond to victim inquiries in coordination with Victim Services staff
  • Prepare, process, and upload Post-Conviction forms
  • Process and document Victim Information Forms
  • Assist with redaction
  • Operate a letter folding machine
  • Assemble packets for mailing
  • Assist with reviewing and distributing incoming mail
  • Process Victim Compensation Delinquency claims and applications
  • Enter applications in a specialized data system and create/assign Victim Compensation cases
  • Attend and set up monthly Victim Compensation Board meetings and record decisions
  • Maintain compliance with Victim Compensation Program rules
  • Prepare Victim Compensation Board minutes and update/post Public Notice
  • Comply with grant requirements and meet programmatic deadlines
  • Work in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victims

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One year of experience performing specialized clerical duties
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire
  • Thorough background check
  • Drug testing after an offer has been extended and prior to placement
  • Clerical experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment is valued
  • Customer service experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment is valued
  • Ability to read/write/speak fluently in both English and Spanish is valued
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and perform duties at 90% accuracy
  • Ability to travel to various county locations for meetings and trainings, utilizing a personal or county vehicle
  • Ability to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work with graphic and violent materials
