About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as an integral member of an autonomous, multi-disciplinary product team
- Collaborate with UX designers, Product Managers, and software engineers
- Deliver quality customer experiences and scale systems for continued growth
- Support and maintain created software, including participation in an on-call rotation
- Develop event-driven microservices and APIs in a distributed architecture
- Build dynamic web applications using ReactJS, Node.js, and Backbone.js
- Develop infrastructure on AWS, including EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch
- Work on event streaming and big data solutions using Kafka and Spark
- Extend and grow the existing feature set
- Help shape architecture decisions
- Raise code quality through code review and mentorship
- Take ownership of problems end to end, including scoping, tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience as a software developer
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 3+ years of additional relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
- Fluency in at least two programming languages, preferably including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor
- Familiarity with SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and RDS storage engines, and knowing when each is appropriate
- Familiarity with instrumentation techniques and data-driven decision making
- Effective communication through interactive mediums and documentation
- Teamwork and solid collaboration skills
- Experience in event streaming architecture and stream processing with Kafka and Spark
- Solid Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform
- Ability to pick up other provisioning/configuration tools as needed
