About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write and produce news, features and other content for print and digital platforms
  • Create and contribute to video and commercial content
  • Attend and report from industry events in the UK and overseas
  • Deputise for editors when required
  • Support the day-to-day management of websites and newsletters
  • Develop new editorial ideas and identify opportunities to strengthen content
  • Proofread, copy edit and maintain high editorial standards
  • Work with colleagues across the business and build relationships with external contacts
  • Work across engineering titles including Eureka, Manufacturing Management, MADE in Ireland and Machinery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong news and feature-writing skills
  • Excellent proof-reading and copy-editing ability
  • Confidence managing competing deadlines across several publications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Curiosity and ability to spot and develop interesting content ideas
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas when required
  • Experience using editorial CMS platforms and Adobe InDesign would be useful, but is not essential
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Interest in specialist journalism
  • Ability to quickly understand the industries and audiences being written for
  • Legal right to live and work in the UK
  • Applicants must not require visa sponsorship
