About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the Wholesale & Specialty operating model across regions, underwriting support, service, and workflow
- Set the vision for a progressive, AI-enabled future operating model
- Lead transformation initiatives improving speed, quality, and expense ratio
- Drive organizational clarity, decision rights, and process consistency
- Oversee the federated Wholesale & Specialty technology organization
- Set and own the IT roadmap with enterprise architecture
- Modernize underwriting, workflow, portals, and automation, including AI
- Ensure data accessibility, management information/analytics support, and performance transparency
- Improve underwriting productivity, broker and underwriter ease of doing business, digital trading, small-risks automation, operational SLAs, and service outcomes
- Lead operations leadership meetings and co-own IT and operations prioritization forums
- Align underwriting, claims, operations, IT, HR, and finance
- Prepare for quarterly business reviews, regional P&L, and reserving meetings
- Build an integrated, high-performing Operations/IT/Data organization
- Mentor and develop operational and technology leaders
- Promote empowerment, speed, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in insurance operations, with a focus on wholesale and specialty insurance
- Demonstrated expertise in underwriting processes and IT systems
- Demonstrated AI fluency, including identifying high-value use cases, governing risk, and scaling AI-enabled workflows across operations and underwriting
- Proven track record at a senior leadership level of driving and owning large-scale change
- Excellent understanding of insurance business plans and growth aspirations
- Ability to stay ahead of external trends and ensure creativity and innovation across operations
- Confidence leading and influencing senior leadership teams and managing multiple stakeholder groups
- Proven experience driving process efficiency and defining process excellence
- Ability to coach, mentor and inspire across the organization
