About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver quality service and insurance recommendations to current and prospective Markel customers
  • Split sales and service responsibilities based on business needs
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate to the appropriate level when necessary
  • Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately to meet customer needs
  • Strive for first-call resolution and best-in-class service
  • Stay current and knowledgeable on procedures, department standards, and guidelines
  • Meet performance standards including schedule adherence, quality assurance, first contact resolution, average talk time, average handle time, average speed of answer, and coding
  • Sell boat, event/wedding, and e-bike insurance
  • Handle provided sales leads without outbound cold calling
  • Work Monday–Friday during core hours of 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. CST

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Property & Casualty Insurance license required
  • 220 License (General Lines Agent License) required; Florida Only
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus
  • 1 or more years of prior customer service experience preferred
  • Demonstrated job stability and attendance records
  • Solid computer, grammar, and multitasking skills
  • Comfort with a high-volume service center
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Dedicated to providing a positive customer experience
  • Clear and professional phone communication
  • Strong technical background and ability to multitask in several systems at once
  • Willingness to learn new material and systems/applications
  • Accountable and reliable
  • US Work Authorization required

  • Bilingual Spanish/English qualification applies to bilingual compensation tier
