About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, develop, and strengthen the Amazon and Marketplaces team
  • Build an engaged team and develop early-career marketplace professionals
  • Coach and mentor team members through hands-on teaching, 1:1s, and real-time feedback
  • Create individual development plans and clear career paths
  • Set expectations, define roles, establish operating rhythms, and hold the team accountable
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Establish marketplace standards, SOPs, playbooks, onboarding, and training programs
  • Create quality-control and review processes
  • Design the division structure, roles, and capacity model
  • Document institutional knowledge
  • Serve as subject matter expert across Amazon Advertising, Seller Central, Vendor Central, catalog, and retail media
  • Monitor Amazon platform, advertising, and retail media changes and update team practices
  • Set standards for client strategy, communication, reporting, and results
  • Sponsor key client relationships and lead QBRs and annual planning
  • Resolve escalations and at-risk accounts
  • Partner with Creative, Paid Media, Data, and Affiliate leaders
  • Own the marketplaces division strategy, annual plan, and quarterly priorities
  • Expand services beyond Amazon, including Walmart and other marketplaces
  • Grow revenue within existing clients
  • Support new business pitches, audits, and proposals
  • Manage revenue, margin, utilization, and team-retention metrics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in Amazon and marketplace management
  • Deep hands-on command of Amazon Advertising, Seller Central, Vendor Central, catalog, and retail media
  • 5+ years directly leading and developing teams
  • Evidence of strong retention and career growth, including early-career or junior team members
  • Proven track record of growing Amazon accounts and total book revenue across key verticals such as Home and Garden, Supplements, and Health and Wellness, with quantifiable results
  • Direct experience selling agency services, leading pitches, building proposals, and closing new clients
  • Experience owning senior client relationships with brands in the $20M to $200M revenue range
  • Track record of building teams through hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Strong commercial judgment, including P&L, margin, pricing, and capacity decisions
  • Preferred: experience stabilizing a team through turnover or transition
  • Preferred: Walmart Marketplace, Target Plus, or other marketplace expertise
  • Preferred: additional vertical depth in Beauty and Personal Care, Sports and Outdoors, or Fashion
  • Preferred: familiarity with EOS or a similar operating system
  • Local Denver candidates must be able to maintain daily onsite presence at the LoDo/Union Station office
  • Exceptional remote candidates may be considered
