About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose
- Interact with companies, employees, and the community while demonstrating personal and spiritual discipline
- Make regular, usually weekly, visits to company worksites
- Build relationships of trust and friendship with employees through Christian ministry
- Visit employees and immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other care settings
- Provide confidential pastoral discussions regarding family matters, divorce, illness, aging parents, death and grief, parenting, finances, and other personal issues
- Provide referrals and coordinate specialized assistance for employees and family members
- Assist with planning, conducting, or attending funerals and provide grief follow-up support
- Make jail visits when needed
- Deliver death and serious-injury notifications and support affected families and employees
- Provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees
- Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate
- Provide literature and resources for life issues
- Represent companies to clients or customers during serious illness, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals
- Participate in new employee orientation and explain Employee Care Service and the Chaplain Team
- Perform additional duties requested by company executive leadership with Executive Director of Operations permission
Requirements

- Ability to deliver community presentations
- Ability to deal effectively with family members and staff under stressful circumstances

- Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and MCHAP Ministry values
- Fundamental understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application
- Saving faith in Jesus Christ and active participation in a biblically based church
- Professional interaction skills, diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse groups
- Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive, confidential issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses
- Skill in analyzing information, following up on problems or objectives, identifying solutions, and solving problems
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures and keep others informed
- Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email messaging, and web-based software applications
- Ability to learn new technology programs
- Active state driver's license and state-minimum auto insurance in the state(s) where servicing clients
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Bilingual Spanish required
