About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle customer inquiries, order requests, and information requests
  • Enter, review, and maintain customer orders in company systems
  • Coordinate order changes, cancellations, acknowledgements, shipment updates, ASNs, PODs, and related documentation
  • Expedite customer orders by following up with internal departments, suppliers, processors, and vendors
  • Manage daily customer and sales-related email and phone communication
  • Maintain communication with customers, sales staff, and internal departments
  • Manage customer contact information, pricing updates, and sales-related tools
  • Assist with customer portals, scorecards, forecasts, and account-specific requirements
  • Coordinate with Credit, Procurement, Operations, and other departments to resolve questions and order issues
  • Assist with RMA, RA, PPAP, and other customer or quality-related processes
  • Identify process gaps, communication issues, and inefficiencies
  • Learn sales, procurement, product, system, pricing, and customer-specific processes
  • Support management and sales staff with overflow work, reporting, and administrative tasks
  • Learn to read prints and understand customer-specific documentation
  • Participate in training and development
  • Build product knowledge and understand customer-specific material specifications
  • Travel occasionally to customers, suppliers, or vendors as business needs require

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business management, marketing, supply chain, or related field
  • Prior customer service, administrative, sales support, or office experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable learning web-based systems, customer portals, and internal business applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong follow-up skills and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Basic math skills and ability to review information for accuracy
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and willingness to learn
  • Prior sales or metals industry experience helpful but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • Sponsorship for work authorization is not available
