About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary liaison between assigned lines of business and the broader People & Culture team
  • Understand business and organizational priorities and provide strategic guidance on people-related issues
  • Advise and support managers and employees on recruitment, succession planning, employee development, performance management, and employee relations
  • Support termination strategy and execution, mitigate organizational risk, and liaise with external employment counsel when needed
  • Lead a portfolio of People & Culture programs and organizational development initiatives
  • Manage timelines, communications, meetings, and deliverables for annual programs
  • Research, recommend, design, implement, measure, and refine organizational development initiatives
  • Consult with managers on hiring needs and develop sourcing strategies and recruitment plans
  • Support job posting creation, interview approaches, selection criteria, and manager recruitment training
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including posting roles, resume screening, preliminary interviews, interview scheduling, later-stage interviews, work sample assignments, feedback collection, offer letters, and term negotiations
  • Support onboarding planning
  • Mentor and support People & Culture team members and collaborate across the organization
  • Stay informed about innovative and emerging People & Culture practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 8 years of People & Culture experience, with at least 3 years in a Business Partner role
  • Experience designing, delivering and managing people & culture programs
  • Experience on a small, agile and progressive People & Culture team
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, team-based environment, partnering effectively with peers, senior leaders, managers, and professionals to deliver on key objectives and enhance engagement, productivity, and teamwork
  • Strong listening and observational skills; ability to use powerful questions to bring about understanding and insight
  • Business and organizational acumen, with the ability to use insights to improve talent and business outcomes
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Applicants must reside in Ontario
  • Applicants must be willing to work out of the Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week
