About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted, category growth-driving partner to Grocery retailers
  • Deliver fact-based insights and category solutions that drive mutually beneficial category growth
  • Partner with customer management and Sales to align and execute category and brand strategies
  • Lead category management initiatives and deliver strategic shopper, category, and market insights
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Develop Category Insights Reviews, shelving excellence strategies, JDA planograms, assortment optimization, price/promotion efficiencies, and merchandising effectiveness initiatives
  • Analyze syndicated data, shopper insights, retailer POS data, and marketplace trends
  • Create and maintain scalable tools, reports, scorecards, and templates
  • Analyze category, shopper, and competitive trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Support annual customer planning and strategic initiatives with actionable recommendations
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities as a trusted category expert for assigned customers
  • Develop and activate growth tactics and customer penetration plans for Confectionery, Salty Snacks, and Treats & Snacks categories
  • Provide shelf layout, assortment planning, space-to-sales, item placement, and POG recommendations
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate POG scorecard performance
  • Apply project management skills through ideation, development, piloting, testing, learning, and scaling
  • Influence annual planning through partnership with Sales
  • Analyze data and create planograms as a technical leader
  • Interface with customers at headquarters and represent fact-based selling to stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2+ years of experience within CPG Sales key accounts, retail, and/or analyst accountabilities
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and capability
  • Ability to accommodate travel a minimum of 25–40% of time
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work in a field-sales, home office
  • Successful completion of a drug and background screen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Nielsen Scan data experience
  • Knowledge of JDA
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • External selling, negotiation, and influencing skills
