About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary hardware technical focal for strategic accounts
- Drive design-in activities from schematic review through board bring-up, EDVT, and mass production
- Review customer PCB schematics and layout files for Marvell DC switch platforms
- Provide guidance on component selection, power sequencing, clock distribution, and high-speed signal routing
- Perform or coordinate SI/PI simulations for high-speed Ethernet interfaces at 800G, 1.6T, and beyond
- Evaluate channel performance, SerDes tuning, and PAM4 link margin
- Support hardware bring-up at customer sites and in Marvell's Taipei lab
- Debug SerDes link training, power integrity, thermal, and interface failures
- Author and review hardware design guides, application notes, schematic checklists, and layout guidelines
- Participate in EE/ME/SI/PI design reviews with Marvell's global hardware engineering team
- Represent customer requirements and provide design insights to silicon and platform teams
- Develop knowledge of UALink, ESUN, CPO, and 224G SerDes
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing forums
- Engage Taiwan's supply chain ecosystem to optimize platform designs
- Work closely with customers' hardware teams, Marvell's global engineering organization, and cross-functional SI/PI, PSE, and software AE teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in hardware design or hardware application engineering for high-speed networking or data center systems
- Proficiency in schematic capture tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Mentor PADS, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in PCB layout review tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro or equivalent)
- Solid knowledge of signal integrity principles for high-speed differential interfaces, including channel loss, eye diagram analysis, SerDes Tx/Rx equalization, and PAM4 link budget
- Familiarity with power integrity concepts, including PDN design, AC/DC simulation, decoupling strategy, and power sequencing
- Experience supporting customers through schematic review, layout review, bring-up, and EDVT
- Ability to present technical findings clearly to engineering teams and customer stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple customer engagements in parallel
- Preferred: hands-on experience with DC switch or high-speed Ethernet platforms (400G, 800G, 1.6T)
- Preferred: familiarity with Marvell Teralynx or equivalent DC switch silicon
- Preferred: experience with SI/PI simulation tools such as Sigrity, Ansys SIwave, HFSS, or PowerDC
- Preferred: knowledge of UALink, ESUN, CPO, or 224G SerDes
- Preferred: knowledge of thermal design for high-power switching platforms
- Preferred: familiarity with MSDC ODM design requirements and Taiwan's supply chain ecosystem
- Preferred: experience with oscilloscopes, VNAs, BERT, and real-time sampling scopes
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under applicable law
