About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the enterprise technical lead for OT network architecture across manufacturing facilities
  • Develop and maintain OT network standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and technical roadmaps
  • Design, configure, deploy, and sustain secure wired and wireless OT network solutions
  • Lead network design reviews for manufacturing expansions, facility upgrades, modernization projects, and technology deployments
  • Evaluate emerging networking, wireless, cybersecurity, and industrial connectivity technologies
  • Establish lifecycle management standards for OT networking infrastructure, network management platforms, and remote access solutions
  • Provide technical oversight and architecture review of vendor and system integrator solutions
  • Support connectivity for ICS, SCADA systems, PLCs, IIoT devices, and smart manufacturing platforms
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex OT network incidents
  • Support secure manufacturing system integrations between OT infrastructure, industrial devices, and enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, OT Infrastructure Engineering, and IT teams
  • Support digital manufacturing initiatives through secure edge connectivity, industrial wireless infrastructure, and scalable network architectures
  • Provide technical leadership for OT network-related projects
  • Lead OT network cybersecurity architecture efforts
  • Implement and maintain network segmentation aligned with Purdue Model principles and cybersecurity standards
  • Partner with OT Cybersecurity teams on network security design, vulnerability remediation, and risk reduction
  • Support secure remote access solutions
  • Align architectures with ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST principles
  • Participate in cyber recovery planning, resilience testing, business continuity planning, and recovery exercises
  • Support vulnerability remediation, infrastructure hardening, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Contribute to technology standards and manufacturing technology roadmaps
  • Maintain network topologies, architecture diagrams, standards, configurations, and support procedures
  • Support network upgrades, migrations, wireless deployments, and modernization initiatives
  • Coordinate with technology vendors, equipment manufacturers, controls integrators, and service providers
  • Identify reliability, maintainability, performance, and resiliency improvements
  • Champion standardization and continuous improvement across manufacturing facilities
  • Act as enterprise subject matter expert for OT networking and industrial connectivity
  • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Influence technical strategy and long-term architecture decisions
  • Build partnerships across Operations, Automation Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cybersecurity, and IT teams
  • Own accountability for network resiliency, cybersecurity, and operational performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of network engineering experience
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting manufacturing, industrial, or Operational Technology environments
  • Advanced Cisco networking experience
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale network architectures
  • Experience leading network infrastructure projects and technical initiatives
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, wireless technologies, remote connectivity, and network segmentation
  • Experience implementing OT cybersecurity controls, segmentation strategies, and secure remote access solutions
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, IT, and Cybersecurity
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills
  • Preferred: Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certification
  • Preferred: Experience with Cisco Industrial Ethernet platforms
  • Preferred: Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center, Industrial Network Director, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Cyber Vision
  • Preferred: Experience supporting industrial wireless deployments in manufacturing environments
  • Preferred: Experience administering Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point firewalls
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos, or Cisco Cyber Vision
  • Preferred: Experience supporting IIoT initiatives
  • Preferred: Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA, Modbus, PROFINET, and related technologies
  • Preferred: Familiarity with manufacturing automation systems, SCADA environments, and industrial control systems
  • Preferred: Experience developing enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks
