About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the governance and oversight function within the Sanctions and FI Compliance department
  • Oversee and maintain the compliance governance framework
  • Lead enterprise-wide compliance oversight programs, including thematic reviews, control testing, and risk assessments
  • Monitor compliance controls and escalate material issues
  • Ensure follow-up and closure of compliance gaps and audit findings
  • Oversee regulatory and internal compliance reporting
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to track compliance performance and emerging risks
  • Manage compliance-related committees, including agendas, materials, minutes, and action tracking
  • Lead quality control reviews and testing across Sanctions and FI Compliance
  • Identify control gaps and drive remediation
  • Oversee the lifecycle of compliance policies and lead policy awareness and training initiatives
  • Act as a strategic partner to business units, control functions, and senior leadership
  • Liaise with internal audit, legal, and risk teams
  • Serve as a key contact for regulatory inquiries and inspections
  • Analyze governance challenges, propose structured solutions, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Support process restructuring, outsourcing, and system development while maintaining robust compliance controls
  • Make decisions on governance and oversight matters within defined thresholds and recommend framework enhancements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in compliance, governance, or risk management within financial services
  • Demonstratable experience with global or regional oversight responsibilities
  • Proven experience in managing compliance governance frameworks and regulatory reporting
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks and governance principles
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic mindset with attention to detail and execution discipline
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to influence at senior levels
  • Familiarity with governance technology platforms and data analytics tools is a plus
