About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the Donor Relations team’s philanthropic compliance work and financial stewardship reporting
  • Oversee fund administration and financial stewardship as the primary point of contact for fund-related inquiries, data requests, and reporting
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of fund data in collaboration with systems teams
  • Drive process improvements across financial reporting, compliance, and fund management
  • Monitor fund terms, expenditures, and eligibility for stewardship to ensure funds are used appropriately and according to donor intent
  • Manage donor financial reports, support special projects, and resolve complex issues with MGB Finance and other stakeholders
  • Educate colleagues and donors and provide high-quality service
  • Develop metrics to strengthen stewardship practices
  • Manage inbound fund requests and inquiries and coordinate fund data, list, and report requests
  • Partner with the Information Systems Management team to ensure data integrity and manage donor database uploads
  • Collaborate with Finance, administrators, leadership, fundraisers, donor relations colleagues, and the Office of General Counsel
  • Track and audit fund terms, maturities, and expenditures; recommend funds for inclusion in or removal from stewardship
  • Assist with auditing reinvesting endowments, reviewing gifts in the Development Office Suspense Fund, and compiling financial information for gift proposals
  • Produce formal and bespoke financial reports using Ovrture and research complex funds, gifts, and expenditures
  • Lead presentations, workshops, and communications on financial topics
  • Develop stewardship metrics with the Director
  • Contribute to positive office morale

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility in times of shifting priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences
  • Creativity and high levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • Commitment to adopting best practices and maximizing efficiency
  • Command of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Competency using videoconferencing platforms; Zoom and Microsoft Teams preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Professionalism and a strong work ethic
  • Awareness of personal work styles in self and others
  • Inclination to build relationships with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Sound and thoughtful judgement and care in dealing with confidential information
