About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Function as a member of the patient care team under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Perform all aspects of the Patient Care Assistant role
- Support the RN with clinical tasks, including blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, applying simple dressings, and using aseptic technique
- Respond to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills
- Respond to the needs of patients and family members
- Take an active role in the efficient operation of the unit
- Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED certificate required
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant license required
- AHA Heartsaver, CPR and AED program required
- Prior PCA/CNA experience preferred
- Availability for 32-hour evening shifts, every other weekend and holiday rotation per contract
- Ability to work 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
- Ability to work onsite at 1153 Centre Street
