About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and expedite clinical operations for a multidisciplinary ambulatory care team
- Supervise and direct nursing staff, medical assistants, practice assistants, and practice coordinators
- Monitor quality and flow of patient care and respond to operational issues in real time
- Provide weekday supervisory support with the Nursing Director and Practice Manager
- Develop workflows and care pathways across settings
- Facilitate huddles and promote effective communication
- Manage staffing schedules, resources, overtime, and sick/tardy calls
- Evaluate staff performance and support orientation, mentoring, and staff development
- Participate in staff selection and supervision
- Collaborate on quality standards, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Conduct Joint Commission and medical record documentation audits
- Manage patient complaints, inquiries, and feedback
- Provide evidence-based nursing care and perform RN clinical responsibilities within licensure and policy
- Use information systems, reporting data, and technology to support care delivery and quality improvement
- Provide clinical oversight across BWH Dermatology sites, with travel to Chestnut Hill, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Foxborough, and Westwood locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- BSN required
- MSN preferred
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts
- Current registration in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- MSN, DNP, PhD, or BSN with a master’s degree in a related field required
- Current certification required or to be attained within two-year period; certification must be maintained while employed
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ambulatory nursing experience within the last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 years of nurse manager or leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of ambulatory and specialty-specific clinical practices, workflows, and operations
- In-person triage and direct patient care experience strongly preferred
- Dermatology experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork
- Professional judgment within scope of licensure
- Interpersonal skills across roles, teams, and departments
- Ability to manage critical patient-care issues and organizational change
- Technological literacy and experience with computerized information and practice management systems
