About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely according to departmental policies and procedures
- Position and immobilize patients according to treatment plans
- Evaluate treatment images according to standard guidelines and assist with setup issues
- Use the Quality Assurance program for treatment, treatment delivery, and quality patient care
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and quality assurance checks
- Maintain department supply inventory
- Perform assigned administrative quality assurance checks
- Teach student therapists and departmental observers
- Establish professional relationships with physicians, management, peers, patients, and families
- Resolve issues and conflicts using judgment, independent thinking, and creativity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree Radiation Therapy required; Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy preferred
- NH Radiation Therapist license required
- Basic Life Support Certification required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year of program completion
- Clinical internship in a major cancer center 0-1 year preferred
- Knowledge of equipment operation, tools, and procedures specific to the assigned area
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and procedural issues
- Proficiency in Radiation Oncology Information Systems and Hospital Information Systems, including Mosaiq, ARIA, EPIC, Vision RT, and Eclipse
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information
- Ability to meet age-specific requirements for patients from infants through elderly patients
- Ability to teach student therapists and departmental observers
