About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interpret the plan of medical care
- Assess patients’ clinical needs and nursing care requirements
- Ensure nursing care is provided safely and competently
- Provide individualized nursing care
- Evaluate nursing care for groups of patients
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records
- Administer medications and monitor for reactions or side effects
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs
- Monitor, document, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Modify patient treatment plans based on patients’ responses and conditions
- Provide patient care in the Cancer Center during weekday operating hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Nursing required
- Registered Nurse (RN) state license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 3 years of clinical nursing experience required
- Knowledge of practical nursing principles and skills
- Knowledge of age-specific care requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients
- Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, balancing, reaching, handling, fingering, and constant talking, hearing, and near/far vision
