About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide high-quality financial analysis and information to ETX, GBS, and Corporate Finance management
  • Report to the Head of Strategic Expense Management
  • Lead matrixed teams preparing financial analysis, quarterly spend-versus-plan reviews, forecasts, and business cases
  • Support ETX and GBS leadership with strategic plans and short- and long-term goals
  • Partner on strategy and initiatives related to revenue enhancement and efficiency goals
  • Simplify financial processes, data flows, and cost-allocation assignments
  • Monitor financial performance drivers, risks, metrics, trends, and observations
  • Modernize reporting and processes using dashboards and financial insights
  • Lead ETX and GBS forecast development covering P&L and Balance Sheet impacts
  • Liaise between ETX/GBS and FP&A/Corporate Finance
  • Inform global talent strategy and establish governance around hiring practices
  • Establish expense transparency between service providers and service receivers
  • Manage the Enterprise Expense Allocations and P&L Analytics team
  • Oversee expense allocation, inter-company allocation, financial statement analysis, driver-based forecasting, activity-based costing, and insurance product analysis
  • Support senior leaders with GAAP and STAT variance analysis, unit-cost calculations, capital budgeting, and market/peer expense analysis
  • Provide inputs for annual expense targets, goals, and budgets
  • Monitor expenses by business unit and product-level P&Ls
  • Partner with Strategic Planning & Delivery, PMO, and Procurement teams to improve economics and execution rigor
  • Improve transparency into funding capacity, CBAs, execution health metrics, benefit realization, and procurement levers
  • Develop relationships with ETX, business, and corporate leaders
  • Lead Corporate Finance transformation, data-driven analysis, automated reporting, and advanced analytics
  • Develop staff and successors and promote self-service, collaboration, benchmarking, and disciplined cost-benefit analysis
  • Foster innovation, empowerment, collaboration, and diverse talent development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of experience working on financial aspects of large, sophisticated technology organizations, digital transformations, and data strategy
  • Experience in financial services; experience with permanent insurance is a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable U.S. GAAP financial reporting requirements
  • Insurance regulatory reporting experience is a plus
  • Ability to influence and lead others toward shared goals and objectives
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving and process improvement experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deliverables
  • Ability to travel between New York, Boston, and Springfield locations as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • Proven experience implementing new and innovative technologies
  • Strong communication, training, and change management skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing advanced forecasting and strategic planning techniques, including activity-based costing and zero-based budgeting
  • High degree of financial acumen
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data sets
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate good judgment
  • Experience driving transformation efforts
  • Ability to work through large data sets to understand key trends
  • MBA or CPA designation is a preference
