About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with corporate teams, primarily HR, to understand problems and rapidly ship internal dashboards, portals, web apps, reports, and integrations
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex as the primary means of building software
  • Administer, optimize, and expand a multi-tenanted Databricks platform for analytics and business intelligence requirements
  • Teach and coach non-technical stakeholders to build and maintain AI-assisted workflows and tools
  • Develop and deliver secure, maintainable solutions using sensible software development methodologies in collaboration with Match Group Core’s product engineering team
  • Create technical notes, integration documentation, operational guides, and how-to guides for non-technical audiences
  • Monitor and troubleshoot shipped tools, provide timely fixes, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Track the AI tooling landscape and bring useful tools back to the team
  • Gain exposure across Match Group’s central services and corporate functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 0–2 years of professional experience as a software engineer, or a recent degree, diploma, or bootcamp qualification in a relevant field
  • Hands-on experience using agentic development harnesses and AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex
  • Experience or familiarity with agentic instructions (AGENTS.md, skills) and MCP servers
  • Strong understanding of software principles, programming fundamentals, development lifecycles, GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing, quality analysis, monitoring, logs, metrics, error detection, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with agile scrum or kanban
  • Experience building modern web frontends using React or similar and backend REST APIs
  • Familiarity with relational/SQL and NoSQL or KV databases
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or Cloudflare, including serverless concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for explaining technical work to non-technical people
  • Understanding of IT security, data sensitivity, and confidentiality
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and bias toward delivering value quickly
  • Strong enthusiasm for software development and eagerness to learn and grow
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada for the duration of the internship
  • Nice to have: exposure to HRIS platforms, especially Workday
  • Nice to have: experience in HR, people data, recruiting, payroll, or benefits systems
  • Nice to have: Cloudflare and AWS experience
  • Nice to have: serverless hosting technologies such as Cloudflare Workers
  • Nice to have: Docker and/or DevContainers
  • Nice to have: Jira or Monday.com
