About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the LATAM region and work alongside and lead an existing team
  • Build and convert a pipeline spanning government, multilateral, and enterprise opportunities across the region
  • Engage ministers, vice-ministers, secretaries of education, school network leaders, and country directors at UNICEF, the World Bank, and IDB
  • Own Strategic Market Entrances across the region through nationwide publishing groups, telcos, large-scale distribution consortia, and comparable institutional alliances
  • Partner with Matific’s Global Director of Strategic Partnerships and CEO to integrate LATAM relationships and market knowledge into the global government and multilateral playbook
  • Originate incremental government, multilateral, and enterprise opportunities beyond the existing LATAM pipeline
  • Use an existing network to secure first meetings and executive access, leading relationships through signature
  • Open non-traditional funding routes for curriculum extensions, particularly financial literacy
  • Represent Matific externally at government meetings, multilateral forums, education conferences, and ecosystem events
  • Lead commercial negotiations from first conversation through signed agreement, structuring pilots, licensing models, and procurement routes
  • Identify, negotiate, and structure high-impact market-entry vehicles that unlock entire jurisdictions
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities tied to active financing cycles, including GPE grants and World Bank/IDB-financed education programs
  • Feed market and relationship intelligence into Matific’s global government and multilateral business-development function
  • Build a net-new pipeline while working alongside existing account owners on flagship relationships
  • Lead and coach the LATAM business-development team
  • Deliver qualified regional pipelines, recurring decision-maker access, Strategic Market Entrances, funded opportunities outside ministry budgets, and a repeatable regional commercial playbook

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An existing, active network across LATAM ministries of education, provincial/state education authorities, and/or multilateral institutions (UNICEF, World Bank, IDB, GPE)
  • A track record of closing sales or partnership agreements with government, institutional, or enterprise buyers, ideally in education, edtech, or another sector with long, relationship-driven sales cycles
  • Strong commercial instincts: comfort structuring deals, negotiating terms, and converting goodwill into signed, revenue-generating agreements
  • Native fluency in Spanish, with genuine cultural and professional credibility across at least two major LATAM markets
  • Self-direction: comfortable owning a territory with limited day-to-day oversight and building a pipeline largely through your own relationships and judgment
  • Portuguese is a plus
  • Prior experience in EdTech, education policy, or public-sector procurement is a nice-to-have
  • Fluency in Portuguese is a nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with multilateral financing mechanisms (GPE grants, World Bank/IDB loan-financed programs) is a nice-to-have
  • Exposure to financial literacy or financial inclusion programming is a nice-to-have
  • Existing relationships tied to active national or provincial education reform programs in the region is a nice-to-have
  • Experience representing a company at government or multilateral forums and conferences is a nice-to-have
  • People management experience is a nice-to-have
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina is strongly preferred; Mexico and Colombia are highly valued among other regional locations for exceptional candidates
