About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work within a small development team responsible for specific themes and initiatives
- Write, test, and release new features for Matillion products
- Fix problems in Matillion products and innovate on new ideas
- Work on production services and applications
- Collaborate with the broader team to understand and deliver work contributing to team goals
- Manage workflow from coding and unit testing through production release, ongoing maintenance, and support
- Participate in code reviews and research projects exploring future opportunities and technologies
- Develop technical and interpersonal skills through self-training, collaboration, and mentoring
- Build understanding of team domain and architecture
- Help handle risk, change, and uncertainty and contribute to decision-making

Requirements
What you’ll need- Proficient coding in Java and React
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, programming concepts, and best practices, including style guidelines, testability, efficiency, observability, scalability, and security
- Experience implementing Java Spring microservices
- Experience using container technologies such as Docker
- Experience with relational database technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Background across the full software development life cycle from design to deployment via CI/CD tooling
- Experience using agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, with a strong preference for AWS
- Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team and adapt to different technical challenges
- Good understanding of testing, including PACT, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with Cypress
