About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the Incident Detection and Response program
- Threat model systems and codebase
- Direct investigations into incidents and suspicious findings
- Pull logs and build narratives of what happened
- Advise business and engineering leaders on next steps
- Read production code to understand system behavior
- Proactively hunt for codebase bugs and SDLC weaknesses
- Propose and implement fixes or manage resolution with relevant teams
- Partner with the Product Security Engineer on secure golden paths
- Own and tune detection logic running through 7AI
- Validate investigations and escalations and set alert criteria
- Close logging and visibility gaps
- Manage security risks from LLMs and AI tooling in products and internal adoption
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of security experience combining hands-on software or AppSec depth with detection and SIEM engineering ownership
- Comfortable reading production code across multiple languages and stacks to judge exploitability
- Experience building threat models of codebases, including attack surface, trust boundaries, and data flow
- Track record of finding and fixing systemic weaknesses
- Strong communication skills and credibility to direct investigations and influence peers
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted security operations tooling strongly preferred
- Interest or experience securing AI and LLM-powered systems strongly preferred
- Prior exposure to golden-path or secure-by-default infrastructure initiatives strongly preferred
- Experience with container or image security and patching lifecycle strongly preferred
- Relevant certification such as GCIH, GCFA, GCDA, OSCP, or CISSP strongly preferred
