About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and plan category and/or sourcing strategies and related work packages
- Determine appropriate sourcing methods
- Prepare and review procurement and contracting documents, including procurement strategies, contracting plans, RFPs, RFSQs, and RFQs
- Ensure services and materials are purchased and tracked effectively in accordance with policies and directives
- Lead end-to-end project sourcing services, including multistage RFPs and negotiations
- Implement supplier relationship management initiatives
- Advise on category management and sourcing best practices, approaches, and standards
- Review client processes and develop integration packages and execution plans
- Document processes, procedures, delivery requirements, and compliance
- Collaborate with project leadership, commercial management, and multidisciplinary team members
- Report to the Team Lead for Project Services & Procurement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10 years of sourcing or category management experience or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent
- Experience in categories or infrastructure capital project sourcing similar to BC Hydro practices considered an asset
- Knowledge of BC Hydro sourcing and category management processes and standards considered an asset
- Knowledge of project management practices and public procurement law considered an asset
- Certificate or additional education in Project Management, Change Management, Facilitation, or Communication considered an asset
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced English skills in a professional environment, written and spoken
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
