About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as part of the Client Account team in the London office, supporting day-to-day financial operations for the London, Brussels, Dubai, and Tokyo offices
- Process all aspects of legal finance client account cashiering
- Support projects and wider initiatives
- Accurately and promptly input and post client account transactions, including payments and receipts
- Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, VAT and AML requirements, internal financial controls, policies, procedures, and service-level agreements
- Monitor daily compliance through exception control reporting and report and remedy breaches
- Apply AML procedures to cross-reference payees
- Review daily client account bank statements across all currencies and process incoming funds
- Prepare and process electronic payments and receipts
- Authorise client and office account payments
- Follow up on unallocated monies and ensure correct treatment of funds
- Assist with reconciliation and treatment of residual client account balances
- Support and provide insight on outstanding bank reconciliation items
- Advise on deposit, treasury, and money market accounts
- Calculate and apply client interest
- Handle client account queries and interpret client ledgers
- Assist with internal and external audits, including SRA Accounts Rules audits
- Maintain high service and work-quality standards while meeting month-end and year-end deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of two years’ legal finance experience in client account cashiering, preferably within a global law firm
- Experience working as part of a team in a busy environment and dealing with high-value transactions
- Knowledge of statutory regulations, including the SRA Accounts Rules and Anti-Money Laundering regulations
- Experience with Aderant Expert or Elite preferable
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
