About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and support annual marketing and business development plans
  • Develop annual budgets and define strategic and tactical objectives
  • Manage day-to-day assignments and projects in alignment with firm strategy
  • Support onboarding and integration of lateral lawyers
  • Develop and implement business development initiatives, client targeting, campaigns, client satisfaction efforts, seminars, roadshows, and networking events
  • Conduct research, analysis, and competitive intelligence gathering
  • Collect and maintain CRM-based contact and marketing data
  • Collect and report matter experience
  • Coordinate directory submissions, regional surveys, league table and industry survey content, lawyer and practice awards, and other profile-raising initiatives
  • Coordinate business development training for lawyers
  • Manage RFP, pitch, presentation, and proposal responses
  • Develop marketing brochures and maintain practice descriptions
  • Review and update lawyer biographies and practice descriptions
  • Support local-office seminars, sponsorships, and events
  • Assist with supervision and training of junior team members
  • Manage performance, compensation, goals, and counseling processes for direct reports
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to BD&M team members
  • Analyze operational budgets and staffing levels
  • Participate in recruitment processes
  • Implement workflow-efficiency improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet Firm goals and objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Six or more years of demonstrated success in a marketing, research, management, and/or communications-related field
  • Experience in professional services (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or comparable corporate, trade association, or academic sectors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and support demanding Firm needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • High level of initiative and self-starting ability
  • Strong customer service skills and independent judgment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with accepted research techniques and competitive intelligence databases used in professional services
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Experience managing projects and workflows
