About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist business development team members and lawyers with business plans, client strategies and progress tracking
- Communicate successes, best practices and group activities internally across Business Development & Marketing groups and offices
- Support thought leadership publications, data mining, distribution and external promotion
- Plan and execute podcasts, video recordings, seminars, sponsorships and other events
- Coordinate event logistics, invitations, RSVPs, meeting communications, CLE credit, catering and on-site support
- Support research, data collection and analysis, directory submissions, matter coding, economic reporting, intranet maintenance and internal meetings
- Collect public policy matter data and maintain the firm-wide matter database
- Develop industry survey and directory-ranking content and respond to survey and submission requests
- Track global pipeline activities
- Conduct research, competitive intelligence and analysis for strategic planning and business development
- Identify speaking opportunities
- Review and update lawyer profiles, bios and practice descriptions
- Use the InterAction CRM database for reports, contact lists and invitations
- Support proposals, presentations and marketing materials through information gathering, drafting, editing, proofreading and delivery
- Develop and maintain group-specific marketing content, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, website/blog content, social media posts and biographies
- Provide local office support for seminars, sponsorships and other firm initiatives
- Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to junior department members
- Communicate graphic-design processes, best practices and firm policies to stakeholders and colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet firm goals and objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, marketing, communications, English or another discipline requiring analytical and advanced writing and research skills
- Six years in a business development, marketing and/or research-related position in the professional services arena, preferably law
- Demonstrated understanding of the public policy and government affairs market preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency with scheduling and participating in video conferences in a professional setting
- Familiarity with research techniques and competitive intelligence databases such as Manzama, Capital IQ, Mergermarket, LexisNexis and Lexology
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Judgment, problem-solving capabilities and client-service orientation
- Ability to work under shifting priorities, deadlines and pressure
- Ability to work independently and make informed judgments and decisions
- Ability to work effectively in a team and diverse environment
- Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary
