About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead stakeholders through sophisticated production changes, including new model years, Interim Product Measures (IPM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), material changes, and production volume changes
- Plan, implement, and oversee projects involving sophisticated process control systems across stakeholders
- Implement and maintain Process Control and Production Instruction Systems to meet Mazda quality, cost, and delivery standards
- Examine operational and quality challenges in mass-produced models and implement control-system adjustments
- Lead project plans, align internal and external stakeholders on measures and schedules, track progress, and report status
- Develop, design, and continuously update Process Control System components
- Develop management reports and communicate project status and support needs
- Coordinate training sessions and pre-production builds with departments, contractors, and MTMUS
- Evaluate vehicle systems and production processes to prevent quality issues and implement countermeasures
- Conduct studies and support vehicle-control and process changes, including local construction work
- Coordinate production pace and mix-ratio changes and update specifications and system parameters
- Coordinate trials, inspections, inline events, workability checks, and quality checks for Vehicle Control System modifications
- Facilitate final handover to MTMUS and develop sustainable VCS operation manuals and procedures
- Prepare trial plans, readiness reports, and project status updates
- Consolidate departmental information and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and external partners
- Investigate and help resolve vehicle-control-system operational and quality issues during mass production
- Reinforce alignment with vehicle quality-assurance standards and processes
- Support engineer training and development and keep training materials current
- Comply with company policies and standards and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in production engineering or maintenance department in automotive OEM or related industry required
- An equivalent mix of education, training, and/or work experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Basic knowledge of electrical control required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Strong oral and written communication skills required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Exemplary teamwork skills and strong work ethic required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Customer satisfaction and service attitude with strong people skills required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and results-driven approach required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and solve problems required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required (Intermediate-Advanced)
- Ability to take initiative and logically determine appropriate actions required (Intermediate-Advanced)
