About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow existing accounts and expand the customer base
  • Identify and pursue new Oil & Gas customers throughout the market
  • Generate new business through networking, prospecting, cold calling, industry events, and relationship development
  • Drive opportunities through the sales cycle from initial engagement through close
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and business objectives
  • Develop strong, profitable, long-term customer relationships
  • Understand customer applications, challenges, and business needs to deliver tailored solutions
  • Engage stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior executives
  • Respond to customer requests and inquiries
  • Attend industry conferences and events
  • Develop knowledge of product applications within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Support customers with polymers, molded and machined parts, films, and other Oil & Gas materials
  • Collaborate with technical teams on product information, application support, and technical guidance
  • Review customer needs and recommend technical and commercial solutions
  • Support quoting and estimating based on conceptual engineering prints
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations
  • Negotiate contracts and participate in pricing agreements
  • Generate, qualify, and follow up on sales leads
  • Build and manage a pipeline of account opportunities
  • Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence
  • Monitor industry regulations, standards, technical advancements, and customer requirements
  • Provide internal feedback on market trends and customer preferences
  • Maintain customer interaction, sales activity, and opportunity records
  • Report on sales performance and customer feedback
  • Use CRM tools to manage opportunities and account activity
  • Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training and development
  • Travel approximately 60% to 70%, including occasional international travel
  • Represent Mitsubishi Chemical at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or technical roles
  • Strong working knowledge of the Oil & Gas market across the Americas
  • Extensive sales experience developing and growing strategic customer relationships
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand a broad product portfolio
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas materials and related molding, extrusion, and casting applications
  • Ability to engage and influence senior-level customer stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time-management capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform is an asset
  • Established relationships or network within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience working across large OEMs, mid-sized organizations, small companies, and emerging businesses
  • Sales leadership or sales management experience
  • Experience with technical materials and engineered solutions used within Oil & Gas applications
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, as indicated by participation in the E-Verify Program
