About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and roll out processes and standards to build a repeatable operating system
  • Run the processing pipeline end to end, including intake, estimation, QA, and delivery
  • Hit throughput and quality targets as volume grows
  • Manage and grow a distributed operations team, including hiring, training, capacity planning, and performance management
  • Manage and analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, time sinks, rework, and quality escapes
  • Run team experiments, measure process changes, and retain effective improvements
  • Work with Product and Engineering to convert operational pain points into prioritized tickets
  • Verify that product fixes are implemented effectively
  • Own onboarding of new client requirements so estimators do not re-derive preferences for each plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience managing teams in a service delivery role (operations, production, BPO, or similar)
  • Designed workflows, standards, and quality systems
  • Lean Processing and Six Sigma training
  • Experience designing and implementing process improvements
  • Data analytics skills; comfortable in spreadsheets and dashboards
  • Ability to reason from data to root cause and build performance metrics
  • Basic understanding of US construction (commercial or residential), or ability to build that understanding quickly
  • Experience hiring and training people
  • US based
  • Ability to travel to Raleigh, North Carolina intermittently
  • Experience reading construction plans or using Bluebeam, Plan Swift, or Revit (bonus)
  • Experience with multifamily or production homebuilding (bonus)
  • Formal training in operations theory (bonus)
  • Junior product management experience, including writing specs or tickets, prioritizing a backlog, and working with engineers (bonus)
  • Experience scaling an operations team across countries or time zones (bonus)
