About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and schedule telehealth appointments
- Confirm readiness of patients, families, school staff, and providers
- Initiate, facilitate, and support video visits using Epic and approved platforms such as TytoCare
- Ensure telehealth device readiness and connectivity
- Perform pre-visit intake, verify identity, update medical history, review medications/allergies, capture chief complaint, and document in the EHR
- Serve as an on-site tele-presenter by setting up telehealth carts/kits and operating digital otoscopes, stethoscopes, and exam cameras
- Assist remote providers within scope of practice
- Provide remote workflow, patient preparation, and basic troubleshooting support to school personnel and clinic staff
- Document visit activities and follow consent and privacy workflows
- Monitor telehealth equipment inventory, perform basic maintenance and cleaning, document device logs, and coordinate repairs or escalations
- Deliver training and coaching for school staff and clinic super users
- Participate in telehealth program planning, execution, growth, and optimization
- Track performance measures and support quality improvement initiatives
- Escalate technical, workflow, patient safety, and scheduling issues
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, and school partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AMT, NBA, NCCT, or equivalent) or another approved clinical credential per organizational policy (e.g., LPN)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program if following the MA pathway
- 1+ years of experience in ambulatory, urgent care, pediatrics, or telehealth
- Proficiency with EHR workflows and video platforms
- Confidence with technology and multitasking
- Excellent communication skills and customer-service orientation
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and school staff
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites as needed
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods
- Compliance with HIPAA and organizational telehealth privacy/security standards
- Adherence to infection prevention, device cleaning, equipment transport, organizational policies, procedures, and scope-of-practice guidelines
- Epic experience preferred
