About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide specialty medical care within community hospitals
- Admit, discharge, manage, and provide consultation for surgical specialty patients
- Provide in-person coverage at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital
- Provide virtual coverage of Froedtert West Bend Hospital for surgical specialty patients
- Collaborate with surgeon teams
- Provide 24/7 coverage to community surgery practices
- Contribute to program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching
- Work as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ensure an environment of safe, quality care as part of an academic practice and Level 3 trauma center
- Report to the TACS APP Manager
- Work a rotational night schedule with rotational weekend and holiday coverage
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization
- BLS Certified (American Heart Association Basic Life Support)
- DEA Eligibility
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Wisconsin APRN Licensure
- APRN Certification
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization or historical certification equivalent
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP), or Family NP (FNP)
- Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Previous APP surgical specialty experience preferred
- Strong clinical competence in emergency general surgery, trauma, and subspecialty surgical specialties
- Critical decision-making ability
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in an inpatient setting
- Strong foundation in evidence-based practice
