About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide care within the Pre-anesthesia Evaluation Center
- Synthesize and evaluate individualized patient/family responses across the continuum of care
- Make independent judgments and prescribe treatment changes in consultation with physicians and nurses
- Negotiate systems, plan and direct implementation of changes related to program plans and standards
- Provide leadership and guidance to perioperative team members to enhance patient care safety, quality, and efficiency
- Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, proceduralists, anesthesiologists, anesthesiology assistants, and certified registered nursing anesthetists
- Contribute to program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching
- Deliver perioperative anesthesia care to pediatric patients
- Work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with no weekends, holidays, or call
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant qualification
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- DEA registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Physician Assistant: Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
- Physician Assistant: Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Previous APP anesthesiology experience preferred
