About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support clinical workflows for specialty care providers in a telehealth setting
- Assist with patient, provider, and pharmacy communications
- Track prescription regimens for men's health, women's health, dermatology, and weight-loss treatments
- Provide follow-up patient education and support on medication usage, treatment plans, care instructions, and prescription compliance
- Promote adherence to physician-recommended care plans
- Accurately document patient interactions, treatment plans, and clinical instructions in EHRs
- Initiate, track, and follow up on medication prior authorizations
- Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients regarding authorizations
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary internal teams
- Escalate urgent patient needs according to established protocols
- Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives
- Uphold HIPAA, privacy, compliance, and ethical standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Medical Assistant credentials (e.g. CMA or RMA) required
- Prior experience processing medication prior authorizations and working with insurance required
- Minimum 2 years in clinical support, care coordination, or a physician- and patient-facing environment
- Telehealth experience strongly preferred
- Clinical experience with common health issues and treatments in men's health, women's health, dermatology, and/or weight management preferred
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, patient privacy, and data security
- Familiarity with virtual care standards
- Strong technical skills with EHRs, Slack, Gsuite, Asana, ticketing systems, and similar platforms
- Ability to work with little oversight across multiple medical specialties
- Access to a quiet, secure work environment and reliable high-speed internet
- Must be able to work generally Monday–Friday core hours with one weekend rotation per month
