About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop features across backend and frontend
Design, develop, test, and deliver features spanning backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces
Work with the external development partner to understand the existing architecture, codebase, infrastructure, integrations, and deployment processes
Review code and technical designs and provide actionable feedback
Ensure internal and external contributions meet standards for maintainability, security, performance, and testing
Assess tradeoffs, identify risks and technical debt, and make pragmatic technical improvements
Work with Product Management and Design to clarify requirements, estimate work, and deliver intuitive, reliable product experiences
Improve automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and deployment and rollback processes
Diagnose and resolve production incidents, including critical outages outside regular working hours as part of on-call responsibilities
Investigate root causes and reduce recurring incidents
Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
Establish effective working practices and support onboarding as the internal engineering team grows

Requirements

What you’ll need

7-10 years of hands-on software engineering experience at a senior level
Experience delivering and maintaining production web applications
Strong backend development skills, including API design, database design, integrations, and application security
Practical frontend experience building and maintaining modern web interfaces
Ability to independently deliver features across the stack
Experience reviewing code and technical designs
Experience identifying quality issues and helping other engineers improve their work
Sound architectural judgment
Ability to work effectively with an existing codebase while improving it incrementally
Practical experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, application monitoring, and production troubleshooting
Experience supporting production systems and taking responsibility for incident resolution
Disciplined approach to testing, documentation, security, and maintainability
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to technical and business colleagues
Collaborative approach to working with external development partners and internal stakeholders
Willingness to provide out-of-hours support for critical production incidents under an agreed on-call arrangement
Experience transferring knowledge and technical ownership from an external development partner to an internal team
Experience as an early engineer on a growing product team
Experience with complex B2B platforms, enterprise applications, or workflow-based products
Familiarity with role-based permissions, business-system integrations, and products serving multiple countries
Professional working proficiency in English, including technical discussions and documentation
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries is advantageous but not required
