About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside clinical professionals in hospital environments
- Support hospital-based cardiac procedures
- Work with Medtronic field professionals in hospitals and electrophysiology labs
- Observe and support advanced cardiac procedures
- Receive coaching and guidance from Clinical Specialists and Mapping Specialists
- Complete training on cardiac anatomy, procedures, technology, and patient care
- Provide technical, educational, clinical, and commercial support to healthcare providers
- Collaborate with clinical field teams
- Participate in hospital procedures, clinical education, and in-person customer engagements within an assigned territory
- Develop clinical knowledge and professional skills as preparation for future Associate Mapping Specialist or Associate Clinical Specialist roles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working toward a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
- Anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028
- Ability to participate full-time (40 hours/week) from the specified June 1–August 14 or June 15–August 21 period
- Ability to continue part-time (4–10 hours/week) during the following academic year with flexibility for class schedules
- Currently authorized to work in the United States
- No current or future employment sponsorship requirement
- Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory and work in hospital and clinical environments
- Experience in healthcare, clinical, research, customer service, patient-facing, or relationship-based environments preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- Experience presenting technical, scientific, academic, or project-related findings preferred
- Experience working on team-based projects with defined deliverables and deadlines preferred
- Exposure to healthcare, medical devices, human physiology, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or patient care settings preferred
- Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals, patients, customers, or other stakeholders preferred
- For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
- Must reside within the assigned region and remain local throughout the summer internship and academic year
- Willingness to observe live medical procedures
