About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive supplier performance, governance, and continuous improvement across Medtronic’s global transportation network
  • Manage relationships with preferred carriers and partner with Regional Transportation teams to improve performance
  • Review logistics financial results and support forecasting
  • Contribute to global, multimodal RFP strategies and processes
  • Lead transportation cost optimization and process-improvement projects using Lean methodologies
  • Balance cost, service, inventory, and risk objectives
  • Align stakeholders on supply chain strategies and policies
  • Develop best-practice procedures and playbooks for global teams
  • Build relationships with Operational Network leaders, manufacturing sites, and distribution center operations
  • Drive freight-policy conformance, carrier utilization, cost savings, and cross-functional process improvements
  • Coordinate data collection, validate requirements, prepare bid materials, and align RFP scope, timelines, and evaluation criteria
  • Develop baselines, benchmarks, and scenario analyses
  • Support carrier communications, proposal evaluations, negotiations, award recommendations, implementation readiness, and savings tracking
  • Lead and advance the Deliver Supplier Relationship Management program across Transportation, Distribution, and Trade
  • Own global SRM governance, including meeting cadence, tier boards, relationship health, supplier segmentation, knowledge management, and executive reviews
  • Partner with internal teams and suppliers to identify value opportunities, translate data into insights, and influence outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation Management, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation Management
  • Knowledge and expertise regarding multiple modes of transportation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PC and analytical skills using MS Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-department teams
  • Discretion with confidential or sensitive information
  • Initiative, creativity, organizational ability, and follow-through
  • Ability to multitask and work with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with remote teams
  • Willingness to travel 10%
  • Experience with a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) for baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is not required because sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above
