About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expert judgment and advice to supervisors, managers, employees, and HR colleagues on employee relations matters
- Design, implement, and develop an ER strategy aligned with business needs
- Advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance management, diversity, bullying, and harassment matters
- Manage employee relations cases, engage stakeholders, and develop solutions
- Develop policies, training, and communications
- Provide recommendations for policy revision and improved employee relations management in discipline or termination matters
- Lead preparation for WRC and legal matters
- Support execution and implementation of ER programs and initiatives
- Monitor current employee relations legislation and update HR policies
- Respond to employee relations queries while balancing employee experience, legal protection, risk, and company policy
- Counsel employees and management on employee and management issues
- Conduct complex workplace investigations and disciplinary processes
- Drive projects focused on reducing employee relations issues and developing manager self-sufficiency
- Analyze employee relations data from ServiceNow, identify trends, and implement proactive strategies to reduce ER cases
- Serve as the main point of contact for union engagement and industrial relations matters
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the union
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level 8 Degree level in HR / Legal or related discipline
- 4+ years relevant industry HR experience providing expert advice and judgment to stakeholders in a cross-functional organization
- Experience with Irish employment law relating to case management and associated risks
- Thorough understanding of HR policy and processes
- Proven experience in employee relations
- Previous experience in a unionized environment is an advantage
- Strong credibility and ability to influence at a senior level
- Strong stakeholder management and coaching skills
- Ability to work at a strategic and operational level
- Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Post Graduate qualification desirable
