About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess and qualify additive manufacturing suppliers through technical evaluations, process reviews, and quality system assessments
- Lead supplier audits and oversight activities to verify compliance with quality requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable industry standards
- Evaluate additive manufacturing process capability, validation strategies, and manufacturing controls to ensure consistent product quality
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), supplier qualification, and validation activities for new and existing suppliers
- Investigate supplier quality issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness of improvements
- Partner with New Product Development, Component Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop and implement risk-based supplier quality strategies for additive manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies
- Define receiving inspection requirements, test methods, and quality controls to support product acceptance and supplier performance objectives
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Travel up to 25% to supplier and business locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD with 0 years of relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related quality-focused role supporting regulated manufacturing environments
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
- Experience supporting additive manufacturing technologies, processes, materials, equipment, or supplier networks
- Experience conducting supplier assessments, supplier qualification activities, audits, or quality system evaluations
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), process validation, manufacturing process controls, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), or continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of quality management systems, supplier quality requirements, and risk management principles within regulated industries
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or similar quality certification
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
