About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Call on healthcare organizations, primarily hospitals, within a defined geographic territory
  • Educate physicians, nurses, and clinical personnel on the clinical advantages and use of the GI product portfolio
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas through incremental product adoption
  • Develop and maintain clinical expertise in gastrointestinal and hepato-pancreato-biliary anatomy and relevant disease states
  • Understand product features, benefits, and proof sources
  • Routinely visit customers within the assigned geographic area
  • Establish relationships with healthcare professionals and physicians
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and the extended sales force
  • Communicate reimbursement environments for products
  • Update sales action plans and forecasts
  • Develop strategies to facilitate product adoption and accelerate sales growth
  • Launch new devices in the assigned territory
  • Provide clinical product demonstrations and education through individual and group interactions
  • Understand and articulate clinical and journal articles
  • Maintain administrative responsibilities in Salesforce.com
  • Complete expense reports, sales reports, and other business requests
  • Complete online training within assigned timelines
  • Adhere to Medtronic’s code of conduct
  • Develop Centers of Excellence and Key Opinion Leader relationships
  • Manage travel expenses within assigned budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 6+ years relevant experience, or Associate’s Degree AND 4+ years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years relevant experience
  • Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the assigned territory
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer sites
  • Valid driver's license required
  • 2+ years of clinical sales experience with proven sales success and quota attainment preferred
  • Gastrointestinal or Endoscopy sales experience highly preferred
  • Contract negotiation experience with the regions preferred
  • Track record of conversion success preferred
  • IDN experience preferred
  • Experience partnering with and influencing finance and procurement within the acute care setting preferred
  • Business development and management experience preferred
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at hire and throughout employment
  • For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
