About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Call on healthcare organizations, primarily hospitals, in a defined geographic area
- Serve as a customer-facing product expert for the GI product portfolio
- Educate physicians, nurses, and clinical personnel on the clinical advantages and use of GI products
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas through incremental product adoption
- Develop and communicate clinical knowledge focused on the gastrointestinal tract and HPB anatomy
- Understand product features, benefits, proof sources, reimbursement environment, and relevant clinical literature
- Routinely visit customers and establish relationships with healthcare professionals and physicians
- Collaborate with cross-functional counterparts and the extended sales force
- Update sales action plans and forecasts
- Develop solution-oriented strategies to facilitate product adoption and accelerate sales growth
- Launch new devices in the assigned territory
- Provide clinical product demonstrations and education through individual and group interactions
- Maintain Salesforce.com administrative responsibilities
- Complete expense reports, sales reports, business requests, and online training
- Adhere to Medtronic’s code of conduct
- Develop Centers of Excellence and Key Opinion Leaders
- Manage travel expenses within assigned budgets
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 6+ years experience, or Associate’s Degree AND 4+ years experience, or Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience
- Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the assigned territory
- Ability to travel regularly to customer sites
- Valid driver's license required
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
- 2+ years of clinical sales experience with proven sales success and quota attainment preferred
- Gastrointestinal or Endoscopy sales experience highly preferred
- Contract negotiation experience with the regions preferred
- Track record of conversion success preferred
- IDN experience preferred
- Advanced ability to partner and influence finance and procurement within the acute care setting preferred
- Business development and management experience preferred
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
